Accounts and Finance

The Accounts Department at ICOH is responsible for managing the Centre’s financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. The department ensures accurate record-keeping, prudent fund management, and compliance with financial regulations. By overseeing expenditures, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic financial planning, the Accounts Department plays a vital role in maintaining the Centre’s fiscal integrity and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Asset Protection: Ensure accurate recording of non-current assets.
• Management Reporting: Provide timely reports to support operations.
• Accounting Records: Maintain comprehensive financial records.
• Financial Statements: Prepare year-end financial statements and submit to the Accountant General of the Federation.
• Audit Support: Assist auditors with necessary documentation and address audit queries.
• Government Reporting: Submit periodic revenue and expenditure reports to the Federal Government.
• Cost Control: Implement controls to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
• Budget Management: Prepare, defend, and monitor annual budgets.
• Financial Advisory: Advise management on financial matters.
• Resource Management: Ensure judicious use of resources in compliance with regulations.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough expense documentation for audits.
